Marc Lasry is an independent director of Firy Inc. and the Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Avenue Capital Group, a global investment firm with approximately $9.2 billion in assets under management focused primarily on specialty lending, opportunistic credit and other special situations investments. Mr. Lasry co-founded Avenue in 1995 and has spent more than three decades investing across the public and private debt and equity of companies in a range of industries. Before founding Avenue, Mr. Lasry co-founded Amroc Investments, served as Co-Director of the Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization Department at Cowen & Company, and began his career as a law clerk to the Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York. He launched the Avenue Sports Fund in 2023 and was a co-owner of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks from 2014 to 2023. Mr. Lasry received his B.A. in history from Clark University and his J.D. from New York Law School.
